At 1,405 square miles it is around five times as big as it’s little sister, Menorca, in name and size. 68 miles at it’s longest point from Sant Elm to Cap de Formentor and 56 miles at it’s widest point.

Magaluf and Palma Nova are perfect places to find property for sale in Mallorca for those seeking to be near the main tourist resorts on the island. For those who are not, these towns are best avoided during the summer months, unless of course all-day breakfasts and all-night discos are your thing.

The chic resort of Cala d'Or lies on the south east coast, and here you'll find the rich and famous clambering off their luxury yachts. Resorts on the east coast, such as Cala Millor and Cala Bona, tend to be quieter and are popular with families.

Around half of Mallorca's population live in the capital, Palma, and it's a buzzing, vibrant place. After dark, its famous nightlife rivals other Spanish cities. By day, you can explore the attractive old quarter, crammed with cobbled lanes, tree-lined boulevards, Gothic churches and designer boutiques. All these factors make Palma a great place to but property for sale in Mallorca.

In the south east corner of Mallorca some twenty minutes from Palma airport is the exclusive town of Puerto de Andraitx which has the reputation as the “prettiest harbour in the Mediterranean”. Along the two miles coastline villas and second homes have been built which for all their opulence blend discreetly into the rocky slopes. Here can find some of the most exquisite property for sale in Mallorca

On the northeast tip of Mallorca is Cap de Formentor. This wild peninsula has stunning views, sandy beaches and the island's original luxury hotel. The 20-km drive from Port de Pollenca to Mallorca's most northerly point has scenery as dramatic as anyone could wish for. Cliffs 400m tall jut into the sea, their weird rock formations attracting nesting seabirds, while pine trees seem to grow out of the rocks.

Alcudia, also on the northeast coast, is a perfectly restored walled city on the site of a Roman settlement, with remains of Roman houses and an amphitheatre.
